TOGETHER
ONE SMALL WEEK
A simple, practical project to try with someone younger or older. Seven small steps. A change you choose together.

Less food waste. More good together.
Choose one food you sometimes struggle to use, such as bread. When you notice it going uneaten, write down the amount and what was happening. A few words are enough.
Add an entry if the same food goes uneaten again. Keep the unit consistent: slices, portions or items. If you do not know why it happened, write “not sure”.
Keep recording the same item. Note anything that affected meals or shopping, such as a changed plan. Do not invent a pattern if nothing repeats.
Take ten minutes to read the notes together. Each person chooses an entry and describes what was happening. Ask what information or option would have helped.
Pick a recurring situation from your notes. Suggest one specific action for next week, such as checking a shared list before buying bread. Both people should be able to disagree.
Say it together: “We noticed ___. Next week we will try ___ at ___. We will check whether it helped by recording ___.” Adjust the plan if it gives one person all the work.
Read the week’s notes and agree when to compare the same item next week. Discuss both the observation and the effort. A useful question is a worthwhile result, too.
A TEN-MINUTE CONVERSATION
Ask someone from another generation: “What do we buy or prepare with good intentions, but struggle to use?”
You can keep it small.
